Edale Skyline Charity Challenge 2024

Join Team MOVE Against Cancer for an epic high-level adventure on Saturday 31st August 2024 across several peaks around the vast and impressive Edale Skyline.

The team at Lost Earth Adventures will be guiding us on the day and providing us with a support vehicle which will be situated at various checkpoints along the 21 mile trek. There are a number of opportunities to exit the route and go back to the start after 2 miles (3km), 6 miles (10km), 10 miles (16km) or 17 miles (27km) making this challenge suitable for a range of abilities and personal choices.

Fundraising For MOVE

As this is a fundraising challenge we are asking you to pledge to raise a minimum of £200 for MOVE Against Cancer Charity so that we can continue to do the life changing work that we do. The easiest way to start fundraising is by setting up a JustGiving page. Click on the button in the top right hand corner that says ‘Fundraise for us’ and this will take you through step by step on how to set up your page. Once the page is set up be sure to share this with family, friends, work colleagues and anyone else who may wish to support you. If you manage to hit £300 in fundraising, you will receive a FREE MOVE t-shirt!

The trek will start and end in Hope Village, so we recommend that you find accommodation in and around Hope itself, to save having to drive to the start/end point of the trek, as there will be limited car parking spaces. Hope is a beautiful village with plenty of shops, restaurants, hotels and campsites surrounding it. For those wishing to camp, Laneside Caravan Park is a great option and is only a 10 minute walk from the start of the trek, as well as being just a 5 minute walk from Loxley Hall where we will be hosting entertainment on the Friday and Saturday evening.

“MOVE and Mingle” Evening – Friday 30th August

We would love for you to join us the evening before the trek (Friday 30th August) at Loxley Hall, Market Place, Hope, Hope Valley, S33 6RH, where we will be hosting a “MOVE and Mingle” evening from 7pm-9pm where there will be tea, coffee, biscuits and an opportunity to meet with others who will be taking part in the trek. We will also have a guest inspirational speaker to gear us up for the challenge ahead.

Celebratory Evening – Saturday 31st August

Post-trek, we are delighted to invite you to join us for a celebratory evening, again in Loxley Hall, Market Place, Hope, Hope Valley, S33 6RH from 7pm until 10pm. There will be food, fizz (drinks of your choice, either alcoholic or non-alcoholic, can be brought along with you to the hall) and an awards ceremony to congratulate those that have taken part in the trek.

Our Fundraising Officer, Sophie is the lead contact from MOVE Against Cancer Charity for this challenge, so please get in touch – fundraising@movecharity.org if you have any other questions and we hope that you will join us for this fantastic challenge!
