Our Community Engagement Vision

MOVE is passionate about making movement accessible for everyone impacted by cancer by supporting communities to move more because we recognise that there are health inequalities that means not everyone has the same opportunities to move.

MOVE Mentor programme

We offer training and resources for your staff and volunteers to become 'MOVE mentors' - for anyone working with people impacted by cancer, we would love to tell you all about the benefits of movement for those living with and beyond cancer, and train you on how to help people in your community.

I didn't know the importance of moving with cancer, I have learnt so much about why it's important

Over 200 people from BAME communities impacted by cancer have engaged through awareness raising events on the benefits of physical activity with cancer.
With each group we have co designed programmes ranging from Bollywood dance sessions to walking groups, chair based yoga, gentle rehabilitation classes, and community taster events held in trusted spaces such as community and neighbourhood centres. Feedback shows increased confidence and reduced fear of movement, particularly those who had never been offered physical activity support.

If you want to collaborate with us, please email info@movecharity.org

The conversation is important, I could not believe how much harder it is for my community. [Men from BAME communities] are 2-3 x more likely to get prostate cancer....thank you for telling us about movement
