MEET OUR TEAM

VIKKI BEDDOW

CEO

Vikki trained as a Clinical Nurse specialising in cancer care and has over 30 years’ healthcare experience spanning the NHS, charity and private sectors. She is passionate about improving the lives of those affected by cancer and improving healthcare from a global perspective.

HELEN MURRAY

Online Programme Lead

Helen has always had an interest in health, fitness and helping others. She runs our MOVE online programme. She is also a Triathlon coach, loves outdoor adventures and hosts the ‘Inside Tri Show’ podcast.

Nazmeen Wardle-BI

Programme Lead

Naz is the Programme Lead for our 5k Your Way initiative and our Move Your Way Resources. She has over 20 years of experience in the charity and health sector, working in various roles in campaigning, change management, and youth development. She was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma two years ago, and has personally experienced the benefits of movement during her cancer journey.

GILLIAN RUSSELL

5KYW Operational Officer

Gillian joined the team in May 2023 after a long shift (30 years!) at the BBC. A keen cyclist, paddle boarder, skier and runner, she is passionate about physical activity and encouraging others to be more active.

SOPHIE MULLIGAN

Fundraising Coordinator

Sophie has had Leukaemia three times. She joined MOVE after completing the online programme herself. Sophie set up the ‘Move as one’ support group and manages our online programme, fundraising & socials.

SOPHIE GASSON

Cancer Rehab Instructor

Sophie is a trained Oncology Nurse and Level 4 Cancer Rehab Instructor. She has carried out research studying the benefits of exercise in young people with cancer and supports young people on our online programme.

BETH BOXALL

Cancer Rehab Instructor

Beth is passionate about helping people benefit from exercise they enjoy. For Move, she designs programmes for young people on the MOVE online programme, and is an Ambassador for the Rickmansworth 5K Your Way.

NATALIE HALLAS

Cancer Rehab instructor

With a background in both exercise science and health economics, Natalie brings a range of experience to her role as a MOVE instructor.

FRANCESCA JAWORSKA

Cancer Rehab Instructor

Francesca is a trained Oncology Nurse, a Level 4 Cancer Rehab Instructor and a 5KYW Ambassador at Hockley Woods in Essex. Francesca is passionate about promoting the benefits of exercise to all cancer patients and supports young people on MOVE’s Online Programme.

Lindsay Montgomery

Cancer Rehab Instructor

Lindsay is a registered Physiotherapist specialised in Oncology Rehabilitation. She is passionate about working to support and develop the services already available to those who have been affected by cancer.

GEMMA HILLIER MOSES

Founder

Gemma founded MOVE in 2016 after she was diagnosed with cancer in 2012 at the age of 24. As a former International athlete she wanted to use the power sport and exercise to support other young people with cancer.

LUCY GOSSAGE

5k Your Way Co-Founder & Trustee

Lucy is an oncologist who specialises in the treatment of germ-cell tumours and sarcomas. She is also a retired professional triathlete. Lucy believes passionately in the power of movement for those living with and after cancer and, since co-founding 5K Your Way in 2018, has lived and breathed this belief.

GRAHAM SMITH

Chair of Trustee Board

Graham is an experienced company director with a broad range of skills and expertise that will be really valuable to MOVE AGAINST CANCER as it’s heads into its next chapter.

DR FIONA MIALL

Trustee

Fiona, one of our founding trustees, is a haematology consultant and deputy director of the medical school at Leicester University. Her firsthand experience with the positive impact of physical activity on patients during treatment has led her to advocate for our online programme.

LEWIS MOSES

Trustee

Lewis, the owner of New Levels Coaching and Runner Retreats, is a devoted advocate of MOVE Charity’s mission. Inspired by his wife and MOVE Founder Gemma’s cancer journey, he is passionate about the work MOVE does.

CLARE STEVINSON

Trustee

Clare, a founding member of the MOVE Trustee board, is a senior lecturer at Loughborough University. With a Ph.D. focused on exercise in cancer rehabilitation, Clare has conducted valuable research fellowships in physical activity and cancer.

NIGEL HILLIER

Trustee

Nigel, a founding member of our trustee board, brings valuable experience as a former financial advisor to the team. Alongside his wife Ann, Nigel has been a constant pillar of support for their daughter Gemma as she stepped into the unknown to establish MOVE Charity.

TONY COLLIER

Trustee

Tony joined MOVE as an Ambassador for our 5KYW initiative and is former accountant. Despite living with incurable cancer, Tony is passionate about helping others and sees exercise as a way of “taking back control” of life when living with and beyond cancer.

DAVE BARNETT

Treasurer

Dave is a former partner in an accountancy firm and has been the charity’s independent accountant since it started in 2016. Dave brings a wealth of financial experience to the MOVE board.
