Frequently Asked Questions
What is Move Against Cancer?
We are a registered charity (no. 1165675) and we rely wholly on public donations fundraising and grants to carry out our work of supporting and inspiring people to Move Against Cancer.
How does MOVE AGAINST CANCER support people affected by cancer?
We have 3 key programmes of work: our MOVE 8 Week Online Programme, our 5k Your Way, Move Against Cancer initiative and our Resource Hub.
Is all the support you provide based online?
Our MOVE 8 Week Online Programme is delivered on an online basis, as are all of our Workshops, Move Your Way Exercise Sessions and Q&A sessions. Our 5k Your Way support groups however, do meet in person on the last Saturday of the month at designated parkrun events. Find your local group.
I’m a Healthcare Professional, how do I refer a patient for your services?
For patients aged 13-30 wishing to take part in our MOVE 8 Week Online Programme, there is a referral form that HCPs can use to refer patients who are still on active treatment. We also encourage HCPs to come along to our 5k Your Way meet ups with their patients as a way of encouraging physical activity during and after cancer.
What are the benefits of physical activity for those living with and beyond cancer?
There is now substantial evidence to support the benefits of physical activity for those living with and beyond cancer and we are proud to have recently had an evaluation of our MOVE 8 Week Online Programme published, which further supports the benefits of exercise for those affected by cancer.
